New York [US], July 24: Major US stock indexes closed sharply lower on Thursday.
At the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 507 points, or 0.97 %, to 51,711. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 553 points, or 2.15 %, to 25,137, while the S&P 500 declined nearly 90 points, or 1.21 %, to 7,408.
