Seoul [South Korea], July 2: The film "The Cocoon" was recently introduced at the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival and competed in the Asian Film category alongside 12 other works. It is known that this project was directed by American director Jordan Schulz. The film marks the collaboration between Truong Ngoc Anh's company and the American team.
Besides her role as producer, Truong Ngoc Anh also had an acting role in the film. However, in October 2025, the fact that the actress from the 70s generation was involved in legal troubles attracted much attention. Many viewers were curious about the fate of the film "The Cocoon" after the controversy surrounding the actress in the film.

According to reports, at the premiere on July 1st, Truong Ngoc Anh's character in the film was completely replaced by AI technology. From a frontal view, the actress's face was almost completely altered. However, from some angles, many people still recognized her.
Speaking to the media, the production team stated that in order to present "The Cocoon" at the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival, the producers had undertaken post-production work to perfect the characters and story in the film. "To perfect the mother character, we used various technologies and methods to create the most complete character possible for the audience," the team responded.

The representative also added that they used three methods to create a replacement character for Truong Ngoc Anh's role on the big screen. In addition to AI technology, they also used CGI to refine the character and ADR to capture the sound.
"No matter how advanced the technology is, creating characters with emotions requires a great deal of effort and meticulous work to achieve the performances that everyone has seen on screen," the production team stated.
At the same time, the production company also affirmed: "The producers want to respect Vietnamese culture and the characters in the film, and do not want to compromise the authenticity of those characters for any reason."
Chrysalis - The Cocoon is a project that vividly portrays the life story of Sir Daniel K. Winn, from his childhood in Vietnam to becoming one of the most renowned sculptors. Through this, the work explores untold stories about art and the determination to rise above challenges, building bridges between cultures. Besides Truong Ngoc Anh, the film features artists Kieu Chinh, Samuel An, Phi Phung, Hieu Hien, and others.
