Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 22: Mission ShakthiSAT, an all girls Historic Satellite Mission to the MOON, involving 108 Countries, 12,000 girls, a brain child of Dr. Srimathy Kesan, showcasing the strength of Girl Power and advocating for Global Peace through Space.
The mission was launched on 16th January 2025 with 370 participants online from 108 Countries. Dr. Vinod Kumar, Director, Promotions, InSpace, was the Chief Guest along with Ministers from Eswatini, Thailand, South Africa, Ambassadors, Journalists. 18th April 2025 was yet another milestone where the 21module curriculum was rolled out on the Zoho Learn platform. Her Excellency the President of India Smt. Draupadi Murmu had welcomed the team of young girls at Rashtrapathi Bhawan and appreciated the initiative and blessed the mission.
After successfully completing an extraordinary first phase that impacted and inspired thousands of students globally, Mission ShakthiSAT is now entering its most powerful and transformational chapter.
It all began as a bold vision from India which has now evolved into a Historic International movement uniting ambassadors, scientists, educators, policymakers, aerospace leaders, institutions, and young girls from across the World under one shared mission, empowering the next generation of women in space, science, leadership, and innovation.
With more than 8,300 children already learning through the Mission ShakthiSAT ecosystem, the initiative has demonstrated the scale, reach, and educational impact that global collaboration can create. Space Kidz India extends heartfelt gratitude to Zoho Learn for supporting this journey and enabling seamless learning access and engagement for thousands of students worldwide. As part of the second phase of Mission ShakthiSAT, each global ambassador will handpick one girl student from among the students who have completed the 21 modules built by Professors around the globe lead by Dr. Kshithij Mall, ex. Purdue University and currently at South Alabama. The curriculum was wet by 5 Ex. ISRO Directors and Accreditation was awarded from InSpace at the DefSAT Conference .

from around the world to India between 23rd August and 1st September 2026 for Satellite integration, leadership engagements, scientific exchange, cultural collaboration. Two Satellites will be built, one to Low Earth Orbit which is intended to launch from ISRO, Sriharikota on 11th October 2026 as part of International Girl Child day, which will be a prelude to the MOON Mission.
Mission ShakthiSAT is not simply building a satellite.
