Amman [Jordan], March 11: Jordan's Foreign Ministry on Friday welcomed the decision by Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume their diplomatic ties.
It is hoped that the step will enhance stability and security in the region in a manner based on the preservation of the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs, the ministry said in a statement.
Saudi Arabia and Iran have agreed to restore diplomatic relations and reopen their embassies and missions within two months after China-mediated talks in Beijing. They have also agreed to hold talks between foreign ministers to arrange ambassadors' exchange and explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
