Tehran [Iran], March 27: During a visit to Tehran, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said Palestinians have shown "legendary resistance" during the war on Gaza, in which Israel has failed to achieve its military objectives, reported Iran's official IRNA news agency.
Speaking alongside Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian at a news conference, Haniyeh said political support for Israel is now faltering, evidenced by the UN Security Council's resolution demanding a ceasefire. The ruling entity in Gaza has also called on the International Criminal Court to hold Israel "accountable for genocide and ethnic cleansing" in light of a report published by the UN.
"The statements of the United Nations Rapporteur for Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, that there is sufficient evidence that the criminal Zionist occupation army has committed acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing against our Palestinian people . is an additional acknowledgment from a senior UN official, which puts the international community and the United Nations before a real test to protect humanity and stand up to their responsibilities to prevent acts of genocide that humanity exceeded decades ago," Hamas said in a statement.
"We call on the International Criminal Court to move beyond the silence and take urgent action to hold the occupation leaders accountable for the genocide and ethnic cleansing they are committing against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in full view of the world."
