Jakarta [Indonesia], December 15: The Indonesian police have arrested nine people on suspicion of terrorist activities in the province of Central Java, the police said on Thursday.
Ahmad Ramadhan, spokesman of the National Police, told reporters that all suspects, who are allegedly members of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI), a homegrown extremist group linked to the Islamic State (IS) terror group, were arrested separately in regencies of Sukoharjo, Sragen, Klaten and Boyolali.
According to the spokesman, the police have also seized a quantity of arms with ammunition as well as sharp weapons.
